Support » Everything else WordPress » Images showing in Media Library but NOT File Manager Plugin uploads

  • Hello, I have a site I inherited that has something like 30,000 images taking up tons of space. I tried to compress them using plugins I’ve had luck with before (Smush, Minify), and it skipped all 30,000 images due to them “not existing”.

They are very much present in the image library and on the live site, each has it’s own working link. HOWEVER, they don’t show at all in the File Manager plugin.

I thiiink the issue lies with the url – the image will url would be

    site.com/wp-content/uploads/[year]/[month]/image.jpg”

However, the root folder of the File Manager is currently something like “dom1234“, not “site.com” or “public_html” or anything else I’ve ever seen. I can’t find “dom1234” in any files on the back end (although I am having a rough time getting into my cpanel, hosting company is very new to me). So I don’t think the File Manager plugin is reflecting the content of the site at all.

Anyone experienced this? How do I change that over so that it’s reflecting the content of my site? Can I just change the name of the root folder and hope for the best? Lol please help, this is driving me nuts! Thanks in advance. 🙂
