Support » Networking WordPress » Loading wp-admin/plugins.php on subsite is slow

  • Hi,

When going to my main site, loading the plugins: wp-admin/plugins.php takes a second or two.

When I go to a subsite (I only have one), it takes about 20 seconds to load the wp-admin/plugins.php page, every time.

Why might this be, and is there a way to fix or diagnose what the problem may be?

    Thanks!

  • The slow loading time for the plugins page on your subsite could be caused by various factors:

    1. Plugin conflict – Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
    2. Optimize your database using plugins like WP-Optimize
    3. Check if your hosting plan has enough resources (CPU, RAM) to handle your subsite traffic and plugins
    4. Check your server error logs for any PHP errors or warnings that might give you clues about the issue. You can usually find these logs in your hosting control panel.
    5. If you’ve tried above steps and still can’t identify or resolve the issue, reach out to your hosting provider. They may be able to provide insights or assist with server-related problems.
