Can’t log in from the Website Builder Android app

    I downloaded the WP app hoping I could make quick changes (mainly add short posts) to my site, but I’m unable to log in despite using correct credentials every time. (The error message states I’m using the wrong username/password even though they’re correct.) I won’t reset them because they work fine on the regular/desktop/mobile versions of my site.

    I asked my host in case its team could assist me if the issue was related to my site specifically, but while a rep could replicate the error, he had no way of fixing it for me as it was an app-related problem, and that apparently I’m not the first one to encounter it.

    I’m hoping you’re able to help me log in and use the app for my websites as the mobile version of the WP Dashboard is rather cumbersome and not all that mobile-friendly.

    XML-RPC is how the WordPress app communicates with your site, so your site’s XML-RPC endpoint must be accessible.

    When I tested your site using our XML-RPC troubleshooter found here: https://xmlrpc.blog/, it returned a 403 Forbidden error.

    Since the XML-RPC troubleshooter finds an error on your site, please check with your hosting provider to find out if they are blocking access to this file and if it’s possible to change this.

    These errors can also happen if there is a plugin/theme that conflicts with XML-RPC. To check whether a plugin is causing the conflict with the app, try deactivating all the plugins on your self-hosted site to see whether that fixes the issue.

    Thanks so much! I somehow think that my 2FA plugin could be the culprit but I haven’t tested this yet: Have you seen 2FA plugins affect others’ logins/usage of the app?

    And if it is that plugin, and it’s not something I’m willing to get rid of, does that mean I can’t ever use the app to log in to my sites?
