  • You seem to be using this plugin to prevent spam and invalid access: https://wordpress.org/plugins/cleantalk-spam-protect/ – you should deactivate this plugin. As you cannot access the backend, you can only do this via FTP. Log in to your hosting via FTP and remove the plugin directory from this plugin (/wp-content/plugins/cleantalk-spam-protect/). You should then be able to use it normally again.

If you need help with the FTP connection, please contact your hoster’s support.

Appreciate your suggestion regarding the CleanTalk Spam Protect plugin. Deactivating the plugin via FTP is a valid step to troubleshoot the login issue.

If, after removing the plugin, the problem persists, consider trying the following additional solutions:

    1. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Clear the browser’s cache and cookies before attempting to log in again. Sometimes, cached data can interfere with the login process.
    2. Incognito/Private Browsing: Try logging in using the incognito or private browsing mode of the browser to rule out cached data issues.
    3. Different Browser: Use a different web browser to access the blog site. This can help rule out browser-related issues.
    4. Password Reset: Initiate a password reset to ensure correct credentials are used.
    5. Contact Hosting Support: If none of the above solutions work, reach out to the hosting provider’s support for further investigation and assistance.

Thanks for your suggestions, both of you. I totally forgot about Cleantalk, so I’ve removed that. It still didn’t work, so I went through the other processes and they didn’t work either, so I’m going to my hosting company for help, something else I hadn’t thought of.

What is the current error message when you try to log in? The text should be different now that the security plugin is gone.

Right now, the only issue I have are some PHP failures. The hosting company’s working on it, but the guy I was talking to finally got me back into the blog. However, right now I don’t have any antispam or login protections loaded because they keep failing when I try. I’m waiting to hear from the representative at some point this afternoon.

This is the first time I am writing to this forum and I don’t see any place on the screen to post a new topic, so I am posting my problem here and hope someone will help.

My wordpress website is Original Christianity | Explaining the faith of the first century Christians (wordpress.com

    There are several issues.

    1. All my drafts have disappeared.
    2. I am not able to edit even the articles that do appear on the site.
    3. The “Admin” link has disappeared.

How do you fix these issues? Thanks.

    Leonard
