Firstly, I have to say that in this stage it’s absolutelly use and I would never use it or recommend to any of my clients to use. However, it’s not so easy to come up with specific problems when the whole concept is wrong, although I will try to point some specific problems:

    1. I’m completely lost in hierarchy of blocks. It’s too complicated. But specific problem – I want to have in this complicated hierarchy open on default left panel with all blocks in hierarchy.
    2. Similar styling options for similar blocks. Why I can set rounded corners for Image but not for Ilustative Image?
    3. Why I cannot set image width in %, or vw, or in some different unit?

And just to clarify, I don’t think that after those 3 problems solved editor will be awesome. 2 days ago I installed clean WP instalation and used Twenty-TwentyFour theme and Woocommerce. Nothing else. However after 20 minutes working only in editor I got into state where editor wasn’t able to load last posts, or save anything. It just sent requests to server in loop without any Error notice on frontend.

I would apprecieate seeing more copying of great ideas instead of coming of with some good and some wrong one.

Hey @samuelkrempasky! I think it’s probably too late to completely change the paradigm, but I have some answers to your points above.

For #1, this already exists in the form of List view. This is available whether you’re in the site editor view, or in the page editor view.

For #2, do you mean for the featured image block? That should already be there, and there’s an open Github issue for adding border controls to more blocks.

#3, image sizes are pulled from the WP thumbnail system, which are in pixels. To set a percentage size, you can put an image in a full-width container such as Group or Row, and set a percentage padding.

To add here, there’s a lot of great documentation for most aspects of the editor, and if you’re stuck somewhere, there are forum volunteers answering questions here every day. Please feel free to post your questions.
